Thanks to Wendy for taking a note

Eskmuthe meeting about the Worlds
Everyone was thanked for their hard work and flexibility – there was a noticeable difference in the standard of rowing.
A document with general information was sent out on 23rd June and everyone should read this. There is also information on the SkiffieWorlds website.
Boat – boat is travelling down on Saturday 6th with George and Wendy. We are not yet sure where she will be kept overnight. Action for Stewart – check boat/ropes comply with measurements rules. There is some recent chat on SCRA Facebook page about this.
Muster point/gazebo – the gazebo will stay on the beach throughout the week. This will be our HQ and our muster point each morning. Everyone rowing that day should muster at the gazebo by 9am (or earlier time if notified). Coxes’ briefing is at 9am each day. There will be 2 white boards in Eskmuthe HQ, one with information about the week’s schedule and one about what’s going on during that particular day. We don’t know which heat we are in until the day itself. Action for Wendy – bring the gazebo. Actions for David – (1) bring the white boards and (2) ensure emergency contact information is available for everyone.
Organiser – one person each day will be “The Organiser” and in charge of making sure cox and crew are in the right place, at the right time, with the right gear. This is only 20 minutes between heats so time is tight. Action for Charly – co-ordinate a list of who will be in Stranraer each day and whether or not they are rowing, so we know who is around and who can help out.
Warm up/practice sessions – Sunday 7th is practice day. David will sort out practice slots, in particular for those rowing on Monday. We will have a “fun” warm up each morning, and crews should make sure they are properly warmed up before their race. Action for Fox/Andy – take charge of warm-ups.
Life jackets – it is likely that racing lifejackets will need to be worn on front. If anyone prefers the normal lifejackets, these can be worn.
Start – we don’t yet know if coxes will need to hold a buoy at the start. The coxes will be focused on getting the boat into position. Try not to panic at the start. Our racing starts are going well.
Turns – all turns in practice sessions from now on will be bow side rowing/stroke holding. We will try to set and use lomo buoy, to replicate Worlds’ conditions. There may not be much room at the turn if a boat in a neighbouring lane has turned already – that boat has priority in the water. We are doing well with working on our recovery – let the cox know if the stroke pace is too fast and you don’t have enough time to recover.
Finance - £15 payment each, ideally direct into bank account, marked as “Skiffieworlds”. Payment for lifts to be sorted out amongst people in cars.
Daft duck day – see separate post from Fox.
Raffle for car - ask Pauline for tickets, £1 each. Payment to Pauline or into bank account. Still to pay £5 each - Kari-Ann, Charly and Elaine.
Volunteering – there are still volunteering opportunities. Contact the organisers if you’re keen.
Week of 1st July – will be some practice sessions, co-ordinated by David, although the tides aren’t great. There are likely to be a few sessions on the evening of Friday 5th, followed by a clean down of the boat to get her shipshape and Bristol fashion for her trip south.
Drone footage – George mentioned there was some good drone footage from Ullapool regatta. I think it may be here, but if not please can George point us in the right direction.
Things to take along with you – mug, chair, club kit, non-chafing underwear, sense of humour, an enduring love for coastal rowing.
